Understanding Breast Cancer \u2026\u2026\u2026. 1<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Breast Cancer<\/strong> is one of the most important cancers in  women. To a small extent, breast cancer<\/strong> does occur in men also. We know  that practically cells from any part of the body can become cancerous.  Understanding signs and symptoms leads to early diagnosis and timely therapy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The American  Cancer Society<\/strong> has described very precisely the signs and symptoms  for breast cancer<\/strong>, which are very difficult to be missed by the  individual herself. Yet majority of cases are presented late for treatment.  Attending to the symptoms early enough can help diagnosing breast cancer<\/strong> fairly early.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Signs and Symptoms of Breast  Cancer<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

BREAST LUMP OR MASS<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

If a lump or a mass in the breast<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

*  Hard<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

* Invariably Painless<\/strong>,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

* having Irregular Edges<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is More Likely to be Cancerous<\/strong> than not, (American Cancer Society)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, that Does Not  Rule Out \u2026\u2026\u2026.<\/strong> the possibility of a Tender, Soft and Rounded Mass<\/strong> being Cancerous.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hence a Proper  Examination<\/strong> of such a mass  by a Trained Medical  Expert<\/strong> is necessary and goes a long way in Early  Diagnosis of Breast Cancer<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other possible symptoms of breast cancer include:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

* Swelling of All or Part of a Breast <\/strong>(even if no distinct lump is felt)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

* Skin Irritation or Dimpling<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

* Breast or Nipple Pain<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

* Nipple Retraction(turning inward)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

* Redness, Scaliness,<\/strong> or<\/p>\n\n\n\n

* Thickening  of the Nipple or breast skin<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

* A nipple discharge other than breast milk<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Generally when the Primary  Tumor<\/strong> in the breast has grown large  enough<\/strong>, and sometimes even before<\/strong> that, Nodules, Lump or Swelling<\/strong> can  be detected in the armpit or around the collar  bone<\/strong>, which could be a sign of spread<\/strong> of breast cancer in the nearby region<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While there is no  reason to panic<\/strong> as similar signs and symptoms can be caused by many  other conditions, it is wiser to be cautious<\/strong> and investigate properly<\/strong> from a  trained medical professional in case anyone has these symptoms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An early detection<\/strong> is the gateway to proper and many times curative treatment.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
